So, was it the weather or just really tactical racing?

Looked like lots of tactical racing due to the wind and heat.

Very tactical. 25-30mph winds against the final 100m. 100m/200m races the athletes were leaning into the wind as if running uphill. Helped tremendously in LJ/TJ/PV.

X Long Jump - Varsity - Finals
1 Brieanna Puckett 19-01.75 OHS 11
According to Apple Raceberry, her career best is 16'9"
Can someone find out if this is an error or not? So far we have been introduced to possibly the most talented middle school track athlete in the history of Minnesota, so I am a lot less hesitant to believe that a female jumper in her third year of track suddenly PR'ed by 2'4.75" to come within half an inch of the State record. But that still does not change the fact that it is quite hard to believe...

Saw it happen. She had a nice 18 mph tail wind. She has interesting LJ form, does that whole running in the air thing that looks impressive. Another girl in the same finals PRd by about a foot too. The finals for that LJ were pretty strong overall, at least for NWSC.

I'll post updates from the Missota Conference Championships today, should be an interesting race in the 3200 with Deurr, Olson and Kelly. I know Olson and Kelly are also doubling back in the 1600 and I presume that Duerr will also be in that race.

Hauger wins 3200 in about 10:34, not sure on exact time.
Alec Olson runs 4:50, 4:35 for 9:25, a minute pr. Leitner 2nd in 9:41, Kelly 3rd in 9:43. I was mistaken, Duerr is in the 16 and 8.

On the MSHSL Facebook page they are reporting RJ Alowonle sets the state record in the 300 hurdles running 36.38! Very impressive. Wish he was staying home as the Gophers haven't had a solid long (or short) hurdler since Mikael Jakobsson, but that's just me being selfish for the home squad.

Looks like he just missed the AT Freshmen record of 4:16.95 set by Rob Finnerty in 2005. Still damn good though.

You're not the only one selfish for the home squad...
 ...36.38...
...so, we have a 11.79 8th-grade runner, a two-and-a-half foot PR for the second-longest jump in State History, and now this...all in one week...
...oh, and not to overlook all the other incredible performance going on (Gebke, Duerr, Olson, Colvin, Hall, Reichow, Docherty, Bjork, etc, etc, etc...)
...it is GOOD to be a Minnesota High School track fan at time like this!!:D

Definitely.
Borgy, remember where he runs, you gots to look at the JV results. Hard for an 8th grader who never went farther than a Middles School XC race to get ready to tackle the 5k, especially when just being a member of the team you're on means the races has it fair share beasts regardless who the other teams bring. He ran 17:17 at 4AA in the JV race and 16:48 in JV at SEC meet. both efforts around 40th in the Varsity composite.

I wasn't able to locate the 4AA or SEC JV meets on raceberryjam and couldn't find him in the Victoria lions meet. I only took a couple minutes to search.
Those are some legit times. I know Scott is the man at getting kids ready for the 1600. Is that a MN best for 8th grade All time?
