Anyone started yet? How's it going? What sorts of things are you doing for workouts?

Personally, I've just been hitting the gym thus far. I don't have indoor eligibility, so I'm focusing my training more long term than usual. Might jump a meet or two indoor, but if I'm not getting serious until April at the earliest, there's no reason to rush.

Taking everything pretty easy. Getting ready for med school this fall, so not going to have a real season or anything this year. LOTS of volleyball. Also running some all comers here and there, and working on my high jump and pole vault (both events that I am new to). I'm still a foot under Frick, so I gotta work on that terrible 5'6" pr I got so far. Been over 21' and 43' without much effort or training so I'm not too disappointed in myself. I credit volleyball.

I'm vaulting all summer, hoping to break into the 15s before fall. Right now all is going pretty well. Practicing a couple times a week with meets scattered in here and there. Oh and i tried triple jump at an all comers meet a few weeks back and jumped a NICE 37'8" to set my first PR

I've been doing some lifting and plyo stuff, along with some other workouts. Not too much actual jumping thus far, though I have gotten out to a few meets. Jumped 6'7" a couple of weeks ago, felt pretty good, pretty close at 6'9". Have another meet on the 20th, looking forward to jumping again, ill let you know how it goes.

Attacked a bar for the first time in over a year. It felt really weird. I do not recommend that long of a break for anybody from HJ. Was able to clear about 6'0 (bar at 5'10 with some breathing room). So, overall, I can't complain as my PR is only 6'4. Need to fix my takeoff position. Apparently, I am rotating my body way too much before I even leave the ground. All my lifting and plyos though have been helping. I got more pop than ever. Just need a bit more speed, a new approach mark, and some damn confidence. I might be close a new PR at my meet the first week of August.

Update: One weekend later on my second practice with a bar: I cleared 6'3 on 2nd attempt without a brush. Did not attempt anything higher. Still don't have full speed in approach. Chances of getting a PR by Aug. 8 look pretty darn good.

I have been working out, doing core, full body workouts. Increased strength in all areas since spring has ended. Haven't been to the track but i'll start with workouts on Monday. I've done a few distance runs and a 20+ mile bike ride but thats all. lol (deca)

hoping for big PR's this indoor season idk >.<

I haven't done much clean work over the past 2 years because of back injuries, but I maxed at either 245 or 250 sophomore year.

Been focusing mostly on heavy squats and core with some upper body mixed in this summer. Feeling like I'm building a pretty solid base, especially since I'm training through indoor (no eligibility, maybe jumping once or twice).

I'm not quite sure if my form is even close to correct, i watch vids and try to pay attention but i've never had a coach that could show me how (never had a coach that actually knew the jumps either lol).
Hopefully the coaches in college will know something. GOnna be a freshmen in the fall.
