Elkaim if he doesn't self-destruct like last year. But watch Blake Udland/Millburn, who may be poised for a breakout season. I like his easy fluid motion--recall he went 1540ish as a soph at Essex championships.
Teamwise who knows--doesn't seem to be that much depth anywhere. Maybe I'd give Millburn the early nod.

You should't leave out seton hall or Livingston. I think it will be pretty interesting.

Self-Destruct isn't a necessary tag to hang on Elkaim or anybody. He is one of the most exciting talents to come around NJ ever. Best talent in Essex County since?????
May be a pretty good newcomer in the mix at county meet, though.

Bryan Scotland, or Steve O'Connell? Elkhaim has run faster at 3200, but not at a mile.
Maybe he ran faster at mile/1600 than Scotland? Not yet at Holmdel though I don;t think, or Vanny

I pick him for the individual Essex championship (maybe that wasn't clear from my post) but the fact is he did self-destruct last fall. After his DQ at Essex Championships he just seemed to go off the rails.
I am not hanging a tag on him--Elkaim had a brilliant indoor & spring season but what happened in XC last year happened.
And I'm looking forward to Elkaim vs. Rosas

Brandon Jarrett should not be forgotten. He is at some dumb jock school in Cambridge, Mass called HARVARD. When he finally gets healthy, he will be successful at the collegiate level. Jarrett and Pohorence are huge talents, just have had some injuries and issues. Hope it straightens out and they get a chance to run well.
As for Elkaim, Group and Meet of Champs races were not quite 8:46 or even 9:0something efforts. Believe right around 16:19 in both. Pretty sure he won sectionals at Garrett under 16, though.
