Still have a week left before the actual season starts, but I am sure people have predictions as to who is contending for state this year.
Gardner (Mead) had a very impressive track season, running 9:01 for 3200, which earned him 2nd at State. Along with a top 10 finish last year in XC, I say that he will do some damage now that Shane, Connor and Thorne are gone.
Anthony Armstrong (Kamiakin) has also improved greatly from freshman year to sophomore year. Being top 20 in XC, and running a 9:07 3200 for 3rd place at State will make him deadly as well.
Another runner who has made huge jumps in success is Nate Brennand (Olympia). He dropped from a 4:43 his soph year, to a 4:15, which helped him place 4th at State.
Some others to look out for include:
Kenji Bierig (Lewis and Clark) - 4:19/9:25
Timothy Cummings (Eisenhower) - 1:57/4:17
Tyler King (Oak Harbor) - didn't run track
Post other predictions below and we'll wait for Nov 6th to see what happens.

Tyler King actually goes to Coupeville high school, he runs track for them and was the 1600 and 3200 state champ for 1A. He also doubled 4:15/9:20 at shoreline.
Gardner is the clear favorite... Is Walla Walla 4A? If so Jacob Smith should be up there too, running 15:03 at JO nats this summer.

There are like five different Tyler Kings, guys. I thought I should tell you early so you don't get confused.

Tyler King from Coupeville is the same Tyler King from Oak Harbor. A new rule has made it so he is going to compete in 1A cross country this year instead of 4A like him and his brother have done the last couple of years. Should become a great race between King and Jackson

I'm feeling like Nate Brennand could excel above the guys you have mentioned.

So how more dominant can Maddie Meyers become this year? I mean, going into her JUNIOR year, she already has 2 XC State titles (08 and 09), 5 Track titles (1600 & 3200 in 2009; 800, 1600 & 3200 in 2010), and PR's of 2:09/4:41(mile)/10:26(3200).
Not to mention that last year in XC, she won by 1:36...

Jacob Smith goes to Wenatchee :D (also, don't forget his partner in crime Nick Boersma, qualified individually last year). WaHi, however, has the duo of Aaron Nelson and JP Wolpert, they should both place top 25 @ state.
Another thing to mention...Kamiakin moved back down to 3A, Armstrong should finish top 5 at least

I like the 2a girls but all the other ones I would have in a different order but the top 10 would be about the same.

4A boys - Eisenhower really made a statement last year, finishing 4th, with only one of their runners (14th @ State) having graduated. They were only 7 points shy of third place.

3A boys - 4 of the top 5 in the same region with probably three which will qualify for state. That'll be an amazing race come Oct. 30, wish I could watch it, but i'll be running in it as well ;)

Sorry. I just graduated from Emerald Ridge this year, and don't know much about the other runners in the other classifications.

Federal Way boys will sneak into that top 12 or so for 4A on the guys side. You heard it here first.

Are you from Federal Way?
If your gonna have a break-out season, I would say do it now. You have a strong #1 in Meron, and with everyone returning, except Deshawn, go for it.

I would say if you want to, go for it. It can also be a good way to see what our lurkership is like. I am too far removed to really have any input

I know in the past we (dyestat posters) have done a poll if anyone is intrested in this send me a PM with a poll before 9/8, top 10 teams in any or every class and overall boys and/or girls that you feel comfortable ranking.
This will be open to both people on this forum and espnrise but please don't send it to me on both with out telling me. If I get enough people I will continue this every 2 weeks until the week before state.

I have the poll ready to post and will do so when I get home from XC practice, right now it doesn't look like 1a or b will happen unless I get more peoples polls for those. Last chance guys and girls.
I can't wait for our FIRST MEET TOMMAROW!!!
