I chased down his band site thru Joe lanzalotto's Facebook page to Chris' page, and found several students had made postings:

Sorry to say it looks like it's true.

I so want this not to be true, but the original poster is from the same area as Chris and the New Jersey posters are accepting this as true. I am truly devastated. This is the first time I have felt that I have gotten to know someone well online and then found out about their death. It feels just like I have lost a member of my family.
My condolences to his girlfriend and family. I saw no inkling of this in his posting, just an open and honest guy who had a lot to give to the community here online and out in the real world.

Here is Chris' group playing live on the radio in Philly last year:

This is terrible. I never had much interaction with the guy (online or otherwise), but I still feel like I kind of knew him just from reading what he had to say.

Ya I feel the same. The way his students wrote about him on the above link makes me even sicker.
Oh man. All we can do is hope that everyone he knew personally and loved will be able to get through this. RIP.

Your Boy is a good friend of Chris'. A great guy who would never kid about something like this. I wish he were kidding. This is crushing news. To think that I "talked" to him on FB a few days ago and no inkling of anything. Read his FB stuff...he sounded like Chris. God, this is just terrible.
Lefty, no wife unless he got married and didn't tell me which I doubt.

It was his girlfriend that I was thinking of. He had all of us voting for their dog in a "cutest dog" contest. And its winning.

That's terribly, terribly sad news. I knew him only online but he seemed like a really great and interesting guy, who gave no sign of any problem. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

99% certain that these are the plans according to Chris's father.
This Thursday from 4pm-7pm there will be visitation hours, followed by a brief service at 7pm.
This will take place at a firehouse on Neck Rd. and Columbus Rd. in Burlington Twp. My computer is having major issues today, so if somebody could search and post the name of the firehall, I'd appreciate it.
EDIT----This is a good guess Relief Firehouse #3-- will post more when someone clarifies the location.

All of us, of a certain age, have heard the bad news of an untimely death, and many of us have heard this especially difficult kind of news before. We lost a running clubmate this way some years ago, and I lost a cousin this way some time ago. If we are lucky, we may find things which comfort us, whether that be the Psalms or elsewhere. But I am reminded of the First Noble Truth of Buddhism -- the truth that suffering is real.

It is so hard to make sense of this. He was such a spirited and lively person, full of life and purpose -- at least on line. I never met him in person, but he pm'ed me quite a bit, trying to get me to post more and commenting on what he thought about some of the issues that were being discussed on the boards. He was a very independent guy, hugely idealistic and with a very big heart. He seemed to be driven a good deal by a strong sense of justice.
I admired him.

Just happened to look at the boards today for the first time in a long time. Wow.
Chris was someone I actually had a huge amount in common with(age, education, vocation, hobbies, music), and also someone I vehemently(at times) disagreed with on certain subjects. Liked and admired him for all that.
Unbelievable.
it is unbelievable. the more time goes by, the weirder it becomes

It hits home for me as well...I'm the same age as Chris. He would've been celebrating his 40th in February and I'm 6 months after that.
His death has completely shaken me, it's just so incredibly sad.
I find myself looking at his posts, particularly that last log-in of 5:00 p.m. on the evening he took his life and it makes me wonder just what was going on inside his head during that time. I keep expecting him to log-in and write something that will make me laugh, piss me off or something, but I obviously know that isn't going to happen.
It's just so final and crushing and none of us had the chance to say goodbye. :(

took a break from studying to check the boards out as i hadn't been on in quite some time as well. i had been on since the tragedy, but only checked out a couple of threads and never stopped by the LL.
i think i'm going to pack the books up for the night............
i sincerely regret that i never met him in person. we were aligned in different directions, but i felt like i had a lot in common with him. we both have a mutual respect for those who speak their minds and "call it how it is" and he certainly did that, regardless of who was in agreement or disagreement.
i can't believe that we won't have the chance to climb together.
homeless - i'll miss you and i hope you've found your home.
