Ugh this is hard. I don't like to clump hurdles and sprints together; they're really not the same.

Hurdler of the year? Easily David Oliver. That kind of dominance in an off year is crazy.

Flat sprinter of the year? Gay. Not even a question. Broke 9.80 twice in an off-year, and was the first man to beat Bolt in a head-to-head 100m since 2008.

I ended up voting for Gay just because of how he wasn't able to do all he was capable of in the 100/200 in 08/09 due to injury, and beating Bolt in an open 100 is going to free him up mentally for the first time since Bolt ran that 9.72 in NY in 2008.
