Got my tickets right after they went on sale, around $250 (cant remember the exact price with conversion) for all days of the championship including the opening and closing ceremonies. Sitting right on the 1500 start line 7 rows up from the rail. Train ride is about $45-$50 and the only thing i need to purchase is lodging (looking at either hostels or hotels on army bases since those are cheaper). Figured this would be the closest i ever came to the championships (i am stationed in seoul right now so i dont have to fly) and it would be a once in a lifetime chance. When i saw how absolutely dirt cheap the tickets were the decision was easy. The crazy thing is that i paid about $240 for 4 days of NCAA tickets a few years ago and now i am getting more than double the days of higher quality competition for the same price, I love this country!!!
Anybody else coming by chance?

I loved the 18 months I spent in Korea-except for the extreme humidity&heat in the summer and the snowdriven cold in the winter-beautiful country and people. Is Walker Hill still the servicemans vacation spot.
Of course I was there in 1966-68 so a lot of things have changed. Camp Kaiser was turned over to the ROK Army in the 1970s and the little dirt road village outside the camp is now a small city/big town with 24 hour electric service paved roads and streets, traffic lights, western style indoor plumbing(no more Ox drawn Honey Pots on the streets) and all.
Enjoy your tour of duty
