NO -Not Skype- some of us are not Skype enabled-most importantly patti- so jaygray has set up a "old fashioned conference call". Ain`t old technology grand.
Some of you guys have Skype accounts so no reason you could not set up your own informal group.

Around 1980 he won a BMW. For several years, he told me that (I hope I get these numbers right) he put 7500 miles a year on his legs and 2500 miles on the car. (He owned a running store in his hometown, so a short "commute.")

Sorry I missed out...so sorry...but things were beyond my control.

To make a long story short....a friend from Colorado decided to come and visit...(a working visit) and we went to hear him speak at the Coast Guard Academy. BIG day...

And after being away from the cadets for several years...and under a new administration.....plus the fact when we were introduced..we heard "Oh, you're THE DILLON'S!" How could we not enjoy ourselves and join up for opening our humble home to cadets once again....now there was a time about 7 years ago in RI at a xc meet..raining, pouring rain...and the xc team which hung out at our house...one of the runners had family come cheer on the team..including a little young laddie about 9 years old. For some reason...which I was enlightened last night, that the young laddie was going to be left alone and I just piped up and said "I'll watch him...I'm patti dillon and I home school and I know a lot of the runners...he can come to my house...." Well, the mom left him in my care...and lo and behold didn't I meet him last night all GROWN UP!!!!!! He's 19 and a second class now at CGA!!! And his mom and dad were there (both former coasties)...they were floored to meet me once again....small world. Now I happen to know his cousin a former Dillon Coastie...and a building is named after the grandfather....small world...so guess who's going to be visiting....lol!!! The young laddie....he remebers our dog John Wayne and he put in an order for what else COOKIES!!!

So we are back at the Academy much to the delight of the my Young Lad and My Beauty.

I'm sorry I missed the call..

if and if you ever do it again...I'll bring Homer...or perhaps another "opener"...and participate...I'm sorry I missed it.

'Twas very interesting and informative to listen in on the discussion re the pro scene on the track and the roads, something I'm not particularly well-informed on but great to be a fly on the wall and the discussion carried me along very nicely from Elgin IL to near Madison WI. Got home ok, and just before midnight - though a quick last-second change of mind and lanes by another driver who found themself about to be forced into an unplanned exit just about put us in the same lane at the same moment, I had to hit the binders hard to insure their move was inches in front of me rather than right into me, a lot of stuff in the back of the van was suddenly in the front. That happened just minutes after we signed off, probably a good thing I wasn't being listened to at that moment. I'm back home for a week, and then its back to IL for two more weeks immediately following the thanksgiving weekend, if the plan doesn't change.
