Makes him #3 all-time at SM, and the fastest since 1977 when Gregorek defeated Sanders in their epic duel.

Wow LV only won by 3 seconds? I swear at some points on the live stream it looked like he had a 15 second lead. Hard to tell though.

he was leading by more and backed off in the last mile, then saw that he was getting moved on by Futsum, so picked it up in the last 200 to make sure he won. At least, that's what he said in his Flotrack interview

I'm not so sure he backed off as much as he was feeling that hard pace. He was 3-4 secs off Ritz's pace and he knew it. I was standing at the 3m clock when he passed by in 14:11. Futsum was charging hard. By the way, Futsum said he is going to beat Verz at nationals. Nice future story line

If you take a look at the Northeast results on Tullyrunners you will see in the girls Freshman race the winner ran 18:24 which if she was in the seeded race would have tied her for 5th place. Wonder why she didn't run the seeded race.? Any one know why she wouldn't have tried to qualify in the seeded race?

Seconded. I've stayed on the sidelines on these little turf battles before, but this is clearly uncalled for.

Chris made a thread expressing the opinion that NXN was a higher-quality meet than footlocker (or something along those lines; I don't remember exactly what he said but it was pretty much what he and others have been saying for a while, nothing shocking or new, and looking to get a discussion started, I assume). On this thread, Zen Miler said he deleted it, giving no substantial reason why, other than personal preference. Chris registered disapproval (no insults or ad hominem attacks or anything; pretty much just said something like "I strongly disapprove"). Both posts were deleted.

2 thumbs down for censorship.

I keep seeing Lukas' time being the #3 all-time, but the FL site has Solinsky at 1448?? So, Lukas and Futsum are 2 and 3 all-time from the best I can tell.

It wasn't even an attack on FL. It was stating a fact that foot locker is only bringing in the 1,3,6,11 (or something along those lines) guy runners.
It doesn't matter though cause the way Chad Noelle will dominate nationals, everyone will know who the real national champ is this year.

i predict a scenario similar to 2007, top runner from illinois takes NXN and then comes in 2nd at FLN to a runner from the neighboring state of indiana who is not as heralded but very talented. My feeling that lukas blasts the beginning of FLN and we see a repeat of the NON 2 mile last year (only 1 guy gets him though).

"To tell you the truth, I didn't know last year that the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships existed."
