This is a thread for classic running articles of yore.

So I saw the word "jazzy" today. Of course I immediately thought of Michel Jazy (this is the way my mind works), and came across this article about him. He made the cover that year, and had the world record in the mile.

Second Frenchman to hold the mile record the first Jules Ladoumegue 4:09.2- first under 4:10 in 1931-- taking down Nurmi's time of 4:10.4-- that WR had lasted from '23 to '31. Ladoumegue got caught taking pro money and was banned before the '32 OGs.

Jazy OGs info 1956 out in heats of 1500
Silver @1500 in 1960 behind Herb Eliott
4th @5000 in 1964- he was leading at 50 metres to go when the piano landed on his back -passed by Schul USA then Norpoth GER and photoed by Bill Dellinger USA at the line--- both getting 13:49.8 w/ Kip Keino two strides back.
