There are numerous athletes on that list that have not yet decided if they are going or not and as Paul says, others who have decided they are NOT going. There still others that have been invited and have decided to go that are not listed.

If I'm not mistaking, the New Jersey meet of champions is the same day as this meet. I guess this could be a reason the Rosas are not running as well as maybe a couple others.

In light of Paul and Joe's posts, and in an effort to try to separate fact from fiction, I sent an email to Brooks about the list of "accepted entries" on the meet page (http://www.flotrack.org/page/brooks-pr) on the Flotrack website. Here is the response I received from Jesse Williams, Brooks' Sports Marketing Manager:

"It’s funny because I have seen a few comments like this on flotrack and letsrun as well. We have flights for almost every athlete on the list and have talked with them numerous times. A few athletes are still making their decision but I don’t see us not having 98% of those athletes listed."

I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens, but I hope Jesse is right. Could be some terrific races.

Lutz is running World Jr cross, so he may be prepping exclusively for that.

It is the same day.

Remember that the Rosas lost substantial time this season due to injury.

As for Jesse Williams, no one on here said that most of the athletes weren't going. What I said was that there are athletes on the list who will not be running (Morgan Pearson for one), athletes that will be running and not listed (Joelle Amaral for one) and athletes who have not made up their minds (Ajee Wilson, Erika Veidis and a couple others). See Jim Lambert's poll on the subject if you want more names and this is just Jersey.

Hopefully this meet gets off the ground in the next few years. They have the right idea in trying to get the best athletes together to have a successful meet and doing all they can to get them in. This will be a great alternative to whats out there presently.........
