I just updated the PreClassic.com meet info page with the info. I don't know if this change was public yet so I thought I would post it here first.

Here's the meet info page - http://www.runnerspace.com/eprofile.php?do...51&event_id=120 (http://www.runnerspace.com/eprofile.php?do=title&title_id=251&event_id=120)

I love to watch 600s and 1000s, it's always fun to compare the different types of runners and how they would stack up!

I like the 1000, but oftentimes on the pro level they run waay too conservatively through 800. If they want a shot a good times/an American Record you have to go through in 1:46 or faster.

Thought someone said Wheating's coached said he was shutting it down? Or maybe he was just skipping out on USATFs?

I kind of like this, the 1k is a great race. Although as an athlete, if i was coming here to run a great 800 time i'd be a little disappointed. However, if they rabbit this pretty fast it could turn into a really awesome event.

The 1k is a great distance because it shows the true strength of 800meter runners. Going through 800 at 1:47.xx and still running another 200.

The 1000 is run so rarely though that is always feels a bit too much like a glorified time trial. Good test of strength but I'm at a bit of a loss why Pre would do this?

What do they get out of it?

I heard the same about Wheating not running USATFs, I feel that if he's shutting it down he's shutting it down for a while. But I could be wrong, that Vin Lannannanananana is a sneaky and clever man.

they need to do a 600 between Rudisha, Kaki, Wariner and I was gonna say Merrit, but I don't know who anymore. I guess David Neville?

Bershawn Jackson would be a good candidate. He seems to always win the 600yd. at Millrose. I think Rudisha wins the 600m no contest, however. What is he 45.1x and 1:42.0? Few guys, historically have numbers like that.

I'd love to see Wariner in a 600, he's built more like an 800 runner to begin with

Bershawn would be a great candidate for that run. Didn't he run a 800 last year? Rudisha has just been killing it over the past few years and I think that if anyone will run a sub 1:42 within the next few years, it will be him. I don't wanna say challenge the WR because he is still a little less than a second above the WR and its hard to shave off seconds when your running that fast.

lol, as anyone on Dyestat would say to that though, Wariner has absolutely no endurance over 400m. Not saying I disagree personally though, he could probably run around 1:15 for 400m at least.

Also, are you going to NYU? :)

He could go under 1:15 for sure. It would be fun to see him jog a 46 and then blast the last 200!

Wariner should definitely move up to the 800, could break the WR easily.

I pretty much said the same thing to him in a one on one video interview I did with him last year... I don't think he will ever run the 800 judging his response :)
