Elizabeth Taylor, Hollywood actress and philanthropist, died earlier today at the age of 79 from congestive heart failure. Over a 70 year career, she starred in great pictures like Father of the Bride, Giant, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Suddenly Last Summer, and Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf? While, her passing isn't as critical a current event as the uprisings in the Middle East and other news items, IMO and in many others she was a great actress and did a lot of charity and I felt her contributions to cinema as well as her charity work, especially with respect to AIDS earned her mention here.

Her and Richard Burton were great in Taming of the Shrew. It felt like watching a reality show. But it was in a good way, it was like watching a real couple fight. That's how great she was.
