I always feel the urge to post but I just never think of anything witty enough to say. I don't know why it's such a struggle for me, I'm just really having trouble thinking of things worthy to post. This is Mike Mulqueen, the Rutgers track coach. On another thread last week ,our middle distance results from the Big East meet were being criticized. The 4x800 and the mile were discussed. These results were not good. I wanted to come on here and point out that 7:47 4x800 team of 2 weeks ago ran 7:37 in the trials and 7:33 in the finals of the IC4A championships last weekend. Curtis Richburg anchored in 1:51. He also ran 4:11 in the mile heats, significantly better than 2 weeks ago. I posted this to show that those kids are better than what they showed at the Big East meet.
Also, I realize alot of distance people respond on these threads, but it is important to point out all of the good things the guys on our team in other events are doing from New Jersey. Corey Crawford, Adam Bergo, Aaron Younger, Corey Caidenhead,Kevin Bostick, James Plummer, Kevin Brown,Mike Baird, Chris Wyckoff. All are Big East Champions or high Big East/IC4A scorers in their events. We ran 7:33 with all NJ kids and 3:10.14 with 3 from NJ last weekend.
They are an academic all american team, too.
