I have it. I love it. They will break my heart.

Please -- just pray that they break the sub-500 streak and be happy with that

The sub .500 streak isn't really important to me. I want playoffs, or at least to contend until the end of the year. I don't care if they go say 83-79 and are 10 games back. It would be no different to me if they had a losing record.

Was at the game yesterday - great atmosphere. great win.

36,000+, watched the buccos pound out 14 hits. (thankfully, that made up for 3 errors against a terrible astros squad.)

the crowd was real fired up when hanrahan came out in the 9th. he's been lights out all year - just wondering how long he can keep it up.

I went Wednesday and the crowd was terrible. 18,00.

We'll see what happens with the Cubbies in town.

Can't expect much when the terrible Astros are at the tail end of a series. I'm thinking 25,000+, maybe a bit more tomorrow night.

1 game out. 45 wins. Run differential is even.

last year at this time, the Pirates had 30 wins, were 18 games out, and had a run differential of -190.

37,140 last night.

Impressive.

31,000+ today, following up 39,000+ in the loss last night. 10 sellouts this year - most since the inaugural season.

Enter the AS break 1 game back, with McCutchen and Correia added to the team - first time since 1990 that the Pirates have 3 all-stars.

I was at the game today and the crowd was pretty good for a Sunday. The game was a laugher too. I also caught some serious rays. It was hot.

Since I am bumming it this summer I spent the better part of my day searching for potential trades the Pirates could realistically make.

I came to the conclusion that I want Josh Willingham.

Sole possession of first place.

Big stretch coming up of division rivals: finish out the Reds, then the Cards coming into town this weekend.

Then on the road for what looks to be a very tough stretch: 4 at Atlanta, 3 at Philly.

28 games in the next 30 days. After that, a stretch of 21 games in 20 days.

Make or break time.

I went down last night and sat through the rain delays to watch the win. This is really unbelievable. It makes no sense but they keep winning. I fully expect a collapse at some point but this season has been the most fun I've ever had following a team. Nothing they do from here on out will take that away from me. The Pirates are probably the one thing in my life that I would put on the same level as my family, career and religion. I have truly lived my life through them from the time I was a little kid. I absolutely love them and this team has been so entertaining. I wake up every morning and count the minutes until they play that day. They truly are the focal point of my entire universe.

Well, the Pirates have now completed the greatest collapse for any team in first place ever.

Same old same old.

I'm happy with the season in general. Pedro Alvarez was disappointing but not surprising. They got a dud with him. He simply doesn't care enough IMO.

The best part of last night's insanity was Jerry Meals being the first base umpire that called the final out of the Braves season in extra innings.

My fever is starting up again.

They're getting good pitching, just can't hit.

Opening day was great, even though they were pretty miserable on the offensive end. Tough against a guy like Halliday when he's on.

2-4 and headed to San Fran - might be able to scratch a few wins against the struggling Giants.

Pedro Alvarez has delayed the rebuilding plan by like 2 years. It's really frustrating. But, it's quite obvious he's a bust.

The hitting is still the major problem.

Pitching has been a nice surprise, though I don't expect it to last.

But you can't put a major league lineup on the field with 3-4 guys hitting under .200 - not including the pitcher.

Alvarez with a huge week. Let's hope he is finally getting warmed up. It's been an extremely frustrating 3 years.

They were really on fire there for a while, but the last two games have looked like the buccos of old.

We'll see what Bedard does tonight before they head to Cleveland, when they'll throw the top of their rotation.

The next 10 games will probably indicate whether the Pirates are pretenders or contenders. Three tough pitching match ups against Detroit and then a 7 game road trip in Philadelphia and St. Louis, two places we usually get hammered.
