On a serious note, interesting that Sudan immediately recognized the country and Bashir attended the independence ceremony. Wonder if that peace will last.

Otis your fact checker needs a fact checker. Either that or your idea of largest differs with the official measures?

A quick search revelis that Nigeria has Africa's largest population with approx. 158,423,000 people 2010 census. Sudan has 30,894,000 people 2008 census.

Algeria has the largest land mass of 2,381,741 square miles. Sudan has/had a mere 966,710 square miles.
