Just tweeted that he is in the hospital after getting in a pretty bad bike accident. Don't know how bad it is yet. He tweeted a pic of him in a hospital bed smiling and giving a thumbs up but looked scraped up pretty bad.

Just looks like some gnarly road rash.

i'm thinking it might've been jumping the gun just a little to make a thread about this

If GF deserved threads (which IMO he did) about being injured, then so did this.

Hindsight 20/20, seeing as he appears fine

Johnny Hoogerland would have walked that one off.

In all seriousness though, he looks fine...

as a former cyclist, i could've told you he was pretty much fine as soon as the first post said he was giving thumbs up...

bike crashes always look bad, rarely a huge deal (and you'd know it if it was...he probably wouldn't've been tweeting)

Hoogerland would have wore the polkadots for a few days easy after Lukas' crash.

13 stitches and lots of bruises but he should be ok.

He originally said he might have broken something which could have been a big deal with school/xc starting soon which is why I made the thread.

When you have a broken bone, you usually know it. You would be in enough pain such that a thumbs up would not be appropriate...

'broken' generally can include a pretty large range of damage, not all of which would be apparent in the form of constant horrible pain.

We're obviously not talking about stress fractures here.

You guys are weird. The kid is barely out of high school and you guys are giving an update for everything he does. Show some privacy and leave him alone.

If he wanted privacy I'm pretty sure he wouldn't go on twitter and post about it.

Or, you could exercise discretion on a personal level.
