For road races, do you wear socks with your racing flats?

i do. but i wear really, really light socks and much prefer them when they are so threadbare that you can see the foot through them.

i prefer wearing socks in spikes and flats. Normal cotton is fine with me

10k and less, no socks at all.

Above 10k... it depends on the shoes. And the shoes depend on the race.

I only wear socks for the long ones because my feet bleed as it is in 10k, over that and it gets to be bad enough to miss training.

Interesting enough, I have no problems with bloody feet in any of my good spikes.

Racing socks in all races except in Steeplechase races.

I wear lightweight nylon socks, as they help prevent blisters.

I'm with this, I recently stopped wearing them all together.

Those are compression socks that he's wearing. Most likely for shin splints.

I've got some experience running longer distances in flats since I literally rran my Ghost's too the ground and had about two weeks to wait for my Launch's to ship. I'm no socks for anything less than 7 miles, socks for anything longer than that

Nike Dri-Fit racing socks. $15 but well worth it.

I always run sockless if I can (ty PI). I used to wear socks with my flats, but not anymore. Now my feat can actually feel the air when I'm doing road races.

I never wore socks with spikes or flats until I found Swiftwick Aspires. Super thin, they have compression in the foot so they fit just perfect, you can't even feel them in the shoe, and they stay 100% dry. I've even worn them in the steeplechase and they're dry by the time I go over the next hurdle after the water pit. Wear 12's (over the calves) for distances 5k and up cause my calves tend to cramp pretty bad and Swiftwicks take care of that plus they are half the price and better overall than CEP, etc...

For me it depends on the shoe. When I wear Vics (800-mile) I don't wear socks but I do wear some with my Mambas in the steeple...I know that sounds backwards but I feel like my feet slip around inside the shoe when it's wet and I'm not wearing socks. For cross it depends on the pair of spikes I'm using. And to actually answer the question about flats, I wear socks with my Lunaracer 2s but not with my Streaks. Just my 2c
