I don't think we have a season 6 thread yet.

I have a feeling this is going to be a great season.

If you think you're hooked now, wait for season 4.

Agree, was cracking up the entire time.

One thing I don't get is when Dexter killed the tooth fairy, the guy just got in a car crash, are the EMT not going to question why he had lacerations on his face?

I'm just going to turn this into a general Dexter thread as I'm pretty far behind you guys. (I suggest changing the title, mister!)

Does Deb get better in the future seasons? I don't really like her right now (Season 3), because her swearing is pretty... forced (it seems like she's swearing because that's what she's supposed to do, but it's pretty unnatural), and (more importantly), she's clearly an incompetent cop. Seriously, how does she have a job?

Anyone think that Gellar is just part of Travis's imagination? Like how Harry and Brian are to Dexter, or even similar to Tyler Durden in Fight Club. If you noticed, nobody actually interacts with Gellar except for Travis. Also, how did Gellar know that Travis's sister talked to the police? They didn't show that he was watching, but they do show that Travis saw Deb while riding his bike. I think its possible that Gellar was killed by Travis, and now he is a part of his imagination.

Ooh, I like that scenario. I also think that the assistant that is dating Batista's sister has some creep-factor to him. Curious where that one goes. This season is unexpectedly good and very complicated, like 3-dimensional chess...

Some interesting points, although I don't think it all fits perfectly. For instance, how did Travis end up in chains in the church after being knocked out? But if you're anywhere close to what ends up happening, this will have been a beastly prediction.

haha i wish! even though i had the feeling to what was going on, i still thought the scene where Dexter finds Gellar's body was suspenseful and shocking. It was very nicely done how they revealed the fact. I can't wait to see where the story goes from here. I'm kinda hoping Dexter gives Travis to Deb instead of killing him. Since she has so much pressure to close cases and from the fact that her relationship with Dexter has gone down hill.

I'm a big fan of the movie Fight Club, so i relate it to the scene to which Tyler passes out on the hotel bed, and wakes up to find that he made all those calls to the insurance companies.

For a minute, I thought Quinn was going to die to save Batista last episode. And I actually don't mind Quinn now. At first he was ok, then he became too much of a dick, and now he's ok again. LaGuerta is still becoming more hated. But, this season has turned out to be a very good one i think so far. Can't wait for the season finale. It's gong to be crazy! And the intern sending the hand to Dexter is like him signing up to be on Dexter's table lol. Once he brings his game ideas to life like he suggested.

to be specific, my gripes:

and to be clear massive spoilers ahead

I hate deb being in love with dexter. I'm willing to give the writers a chance to make that work, but they IMO they should have at least shown some payoff this season to make us trust them. I love when writers do something controversial and back it up, but ENDing a season with us questioning them is a bad move.

I love the slow burn with Louis, but I would have at least liked Dex to see the package this season.

Stupid little stuff-
-I'm assuming Dex injected himself in the windpipe or something, so it didn't enter his blood stream, but a little confirmation would be nice on that.

-LaGuerta suddenly being nice. i know she gave it a 30 second rationale, but it seemed so giftwrapped.

-Miami Metro waiting for Dexter at that house, letting him go in alone and first. Then not being able to put pieces of plaster back together.

-Dexter boat sinks, ring of fire, no question about it.

-Quinn and Batista were honestly the best part of this episode.

I agree with the stuff I bolded. One thing though, Dexter's boat didn't sink, that was some spare row boat. His boat apparently washed up on shore and he said he fell out. I could believe, "water was a bit rough and I lost my footing and fell out while the throttle was still going."

Still a good season IMO much better than the ****ty last one

I love how uncomfortable the Deb loves Dexter thing is. I think it's clear Dex either injected his windpipe or figured that Travis would suspect him and had saline in a syringe.

LaGuerta has been nice at times before. It sets up her ultimate backstabs.

I agree that it was odd letting Dexter into the house first. That along with the boat are stretches, but not unbelievable. The department is in turmoil, etc.

Dexter is an idiot for using the church as a kill room. If someone knew you were at the church why would you kill someone there? Deb may have been the only person who knew, but it wasn't like it was a secret that he was at the church. I honestly expected Louis to be there. Also Deb isn't in love with Dexter. Her therapist is just the most deranged person on the entire show. Pretty sure she isn't all she seems, and it seems like she's manipulating Debra with Dexter to play out some sick brother-sister fantasy she has.

How'd you rank all 6 seasons?

Here's what I think:

1 (ITK... Followed the book. Best writing to date.)
4 (Trinity. Nuff' said.)
6 (Really liked DDK. Kind of wished Gellar stayed throughout the season though)
2 (Decent season. Hated Lila and killing Doakes made me happy!)
3 (Miguel was awful. But the skinner made up for it. Dexter's Beaner season)
5 (Lumen was lame. And the bad guys were just cowardly rapists.)

Avoided reading this thread until I finished season 6 (just did):
-Season as a whole was pretty meh, even though I thought it had potential at the start.
-Deb having a thing for Dex was weird, although they played the end perfectly as far as being a massive cliff-hanger into the next season.
-I feel like the next season will have more with the intern but hopefully not as the main villain because that would be pretty weak.

As far as ranking the seasons so far: 4, 1, 2, 6, 5, 3. I miss Doakes, mother****a. Although the new black dude is cool too.
