I use this thing religiously. I am on my second one now as the first one's screen died due to water damage. Beautiful screen.

Well said. The spotty coverage only applies to when I am away at school though, when I am home coverage is fantastic.

needless to say, I still believe in the versatility of the laptop. There is to my knowledge, nothing a smart phone can do that my computer cannot. And if I'm not near a computer, I'm doing something where I don't need to do anything other than send and receive calls/texts anyhow.

I used to think that until I started hanging out downtown Chicago more and needed up to the minute data on bar locations, routes to avoid construction, parking information, which train to take, restraints to eat at, and bands playing where. Really most of my nights would end up with my friends and I just heading back to someones house and drink, but now were more able to break out of a routine since we all have smartphones. Plus it helps dates be more spontaneous instead of relying on a strict plan.
Also I get to post on Tracktalk while at the bar.

Same phone, rooted and overclocked to 1.4Ghz.
Love the phone, but I miss Verizon.

I phone 3gs with At&T. Its pretty good, I mean I switched from a flip phone so my standards weren't very high. FYI- Siri is coming to 3gs in the next couple updates so don't jailbreak your phone to get it

At&t Impulse.
Had an iPhone 3g and moved away from apple because an iPhone isn't compatible with anything that isn't apple related. So far I can't complain with the new phone, it is basically the same thing as the iPhone but on the android system except the voice texting button is built into the keyboard without needing an app for it. Idk what other phones have it but the swype keyboard is pretty awesome too.

I have an LG Banter or at least that's what I think it is. It's a solid phone, does what it needs to and nothing more. I have a Verizon plan which is usually good but the service blows sometimes. Still, it's a simple phone and does what I want it to.
New phones these days have way too many fancy extras that just aren't necessary.
The phone seems to have a problem in that I can delete files to free up memory, but the phone thinks the files are still there. So the memory fills and the phone locks up. The phone still makes calls and receives mail, but cannot synch or update software. The music will play, but cannot be edited or deleted.
I have literally spent almost a week on calls to Verizon and Apple. We have done a reset and reinstall everything 5 times now!
A new phone - the 4S 32GB is in the mail. Hopefully, this will resolve the issue!

Never heard of this issue before. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

I think there was a problem with the phone. Both my kids got the 8GB phone at the same time and had no problems.

Iphone 4 with AT&T. No complaints from me about coverage or anything.
i-phone 4S is here. I've finished backing everything up and writing down all the settings, so here goes the install process. Cross your fingers!
Siri reminded me to brush my teeth ten minutes from when I asked her to remind me. She also took me to LSU's website when I asked her what time the LSU vs Ark game starts. Pretty smart phone!

LG Env Touch. It has done nothing but annoy me. Little things like the ringer going off even when I have it on vibrate, automatically turning on as long as the battery is in, and having screw ups with the screen (it sometimes gets tinted one color or completely white, and I have to shut the phone and reopen it. not a big deal, but just annoying).
I might be getting a smartphone for Christmas; I feel like I'd benefit from one. The one downside to getting one is the $30 monthly fee for the internet. I currently don't even have to pay the $10 for a multimedia phone because I got it before the charge was implemented.

I have a Tracfone... The Samsung T301G.
It has good call quality, good signal, and decent battery life. Good keys, small, and durable.
The camera is terrible. Internet is limited to checking weather/sports but I rarely use it.
The one feature I really want is to be able to transfer ringtones from my computer. I can only download official Tracfone ringtones, which cost minutes and are not very good.
I think with my minute usage I'm probably paying about $20 a month. The phone itself was only $30 or something.

And yeah, my friends gave me crap about my phone for about 6 months. They eventually got over it.

Just got my htc rebound and holy **** is it awesome. Pulls down 12mbps like a champ and streams 720p netflix like butter. Makes my iPod touch screen look bad in comparison.

If I were to sign up for a new contract right now, that's what I'd probably get. My current plan is to stay with Sprint if they've released a definitive LTE plan that includes my area and compatible phones by the time my contract is up; otherwise I'm going Verizon. This is still 9 months away, though.

iPhone 3G. It's gotten so slow, trying to grind it out until the iPhone 5 releases, but I may have to just pull the trigger on a 4/4s

I'm an android fanboy, but I am seriously impressed with what apple has done with the iphone 5 hardware-wise. I still won't get it because it's impossible to use one without selling your soul to the app store and apple control/drm (well, i could jailbreak, but that's still not as good as rooted android).
I qualify for an upgrade next week (still on 2 year old epic 4g running CM9), but I'm going to hold out for reviews on the the Nokia Lumia 920 (I'm willing to give windows phone 8 a shot) and the LG optimus/eclipse 4g (beast of a phone). If rumors of the eclipse being a nexus device hold true; I will almost definitely go for that. Also, I don't want to switch to a 4g LTE device on sprint quite yet, as LTE isn't scheduled until first quarter 2013 here in Salt Lake.
Edit: Within a minute of posting this; I read that the Lumia will actually be compatible with bluetooth 4.0, which makes the decision ever harder; as that was one of the main advantages I was giving to the Optimus/Eclipse.

I must have the oldest working phone in America. It's an eight-year-old Nokia. Original battery, sim card, screen, everything.

iPhone 4s; love the ease of use of the phone... hate how ios 6 is behind Android software
