NCAA qualifying procedure

How does the NCAA qualifying system work? Looking through the list of qualifiers there seems to be some complicated scenarios where teams are pushed in by other teams and what not. Can someone explain the rules in detail or give a good link to those rules. Thanks

On flotrack they have a bunch of the Kolas Calculator videos which finds out who is going to nationals (I think you might of heard of it?). If you go on there and watch a couple Kolas videos it might start to make sense.

Though from what I understand, at large bids are based mainly off of defeating ranked teams in the regular season and the order you finish at regionals. Don't quote me, but I THINK that teams can be pushed into nationals if they beat a team at regionals that has many wins over ranked teams. Of course as long as they aren't already in the top 2.
