German Fernandez fit as a fiddle + ANSWERS

Alright looks like this got lost in the other monumental/off-topic thread.

Story about German!

http://www.modbee.com/2010/08/01/127...-on-track.html

couple things I noticed: 1) he was anemic. FINALLY some answers.

2) when that official stepped in front of him, his rolled ankle was actually one of the reasons he couldn't finish the season, making me BEYOND pissed

If the focus of my season was the end of November, I wouldn't want to be fit August 1.

You're a dumbass. Being fit and peaked are two completely different things. As my coach told us last year, you should never be more than 20 seconds off your 5k PR shape.

And I assume your coach is the supreme Buddha of all running knowledge so we should believe him?
(I actually agree with you, but you could probably do better than "MY COACH SAYS SO, DUMBASS")
Right.

Right.
Well, he ran 13:33 and 28:04 in his day, so I think he is probably a lot more credible than orthostice.

I was aware of both of the above partly because of letsrun. The anemic part was during XC season IIRC.

In response to #2, that was pretty ridiculous. An official stepping on the track? WTF was he thinking.

First of all, German is really only 19 and he's going to be a Junior? Damn, I didn't realize he was so young.

Secondly, this seems like bad news to me. I don't know about you guys, but I don't remember the last time a fiddle ran a fast 5k.
