Who are we looking at to be on the top of the podium this year?
Will we see Andrew Gardner (Mead) who took 4th @ Footlocker last year take the title? Or will Kenny Krotzer (Auburn-Riverside) challenge him for the top spot, who ended his 2011 Track season with PR's of 4:14/9:14 respectively. Another player who should be gearing for that top spot is Jacob Smith (Wenatchee). He capped off his 2011 Track season with a 9:07 3200m, which placed him 4th in the 4A State Champions (Top three runners graduated). On the team side, the defending boy's champions Eisenhower lost three of their top seven guys (Cummings, Silva, and Troianello). Will that be too detrimental of a loss to help them stay in the top five? Ferris, who was lead by Alex Kimsey, lost their #2 and #3 runners, but everyone else is returning from their 4th place team last year. With a history of success behind them, look for them to make a bid at the team title. Although they finished eleventh last year, Puyallup returns everyone with a strong trio up front in Brett Bertrand (16:12 5k), Nathan McLaughlin (4:23/9:51/16:19) and Mason Fletcher (1:59/16:28 5k). All and all, I think that these guys mentioned (as well as plenty of others who aren't) will all make contributions toward making this season a great one!

I am all for the Dickson bandwagon, but I don't know if he has the "strength" (and I use that term loosely cause he is a great runner), to hang with the natural longer-distance runners.
I think it's safe to say that Marcus is more speed-orientated than distance orientated, given his PR's (49.xx, 1:52, 4:12). Although I would have liked to see him run a competitive 3200m because I think that he could have ran sub 9:20. I hope that he proves me wrong and kills it this year, even more than he already did during Track.

Quick Update...
#44 ranked Eisenhower Boy's team owned the Lake Sammamish Invitational today. The varsity races are ran in four flights, #7-8 runners in one race, #5-6 in another, #3-4 in another and the top two runners on each team in the last race. Here's how races went down: In the #7-8 race, Ike went second and fourth In the #5-6 race, Ike went third and fifth In the #3-4 race, Ike went second and third In the #1-2 race, Ike went first and second. They dominated the boy's side (the girl's did very well as well). They had 10 guys running 17:18 or faster (All their Varsity runners, as well as two other JV runners). This course is pancake flat, (having ran there before) but if they keep progressing like they have been I think they have at defending their state champion titles.
