There was no typo, i meant 1906 when the hitless wonder Chicago White Sox (i am pretty sure their team batting average was something like .230) beat the cubs team that holds the record for best winning percentage in baseball history (the mariners a few years ago won the same # of games, but in a 162 game season). Any baseball schmuck can taunt cubs fans with 1908, i prefer to use 1906 because A) why taunt the cubs with a year they actually won the series and B) they lost to their archrivals with one of the great teams (record wise) in baseball history in a series in which they were massive favorites.

As always, it takes me until the end of Footbll season to get excited about baseball again. That being said, I think the Cubs will make a run at the wild card solely on the basis that they have no expectations upon them.

It seems that when the Cubs have something to play for, they eff it up bad.

soccer is one of my weakest, but i still say i know more than the average american sports fan (aka one who doesnt have a foreign team they follow closely). For outside the big 4, i am money at track and golf, pretty damn good on tennis and decent on soccer.

EDIT: and to the stump the schwab post, i would always play along at home and usually do pretty well and better than some of the idiots on there. I also love 2 minute drill back in the day. That reminds me, going to play the online version of that now. Will report the first few results.
