At the April 1966 after-party for the ChuckBerry and Four Tops at Carnegie Hall on the roof of the St Moritz Hotel overlooking NYC's Central Park I introduce Chuck to my friend Carol- he goes into the first couple of lines of "Carol" and dances her to the center of the floor. IIRC the top ticket was $5.75.

memory is good for stuff that happened 45 years ago- yesterday-- not so much
yep  $5.75 top and only 3.50 for the nosebleeds.What did you pay for the most recent concert you saw? The handbill sells for 50 bucks now- a-days  They were tossaways maybe Gary Keys printed 5,000 of them to put in eastside bars and restaurants and as handouts. Gary and I spent a couple of afternoons going from joint to joint giving them out.We set up a deal with the bartenders- get a group (20??) folks from your bar to buy a block of tickets and we'd comp your ticket and a pair of passes to the afterparty in the Rooftop Garden at the St Moritz.
