Pretty decent name-drop type of race.

I know 2005 TSMCCI http://tn.milesplit.com/meets/12536/results/26272 started the year off strong with Todd Smalling (should have gone to FLN-injury) putting the hammer on Rob Sorrell (FLN qualifier) and scaring the crap out of the state. Being a few years earlier you see some names before they were impact guys (maclean, danehy, cole, peacock, chandler) I remember that race and going "all $#*t, matt is whoopin my A**! in his first ever HS race". Its all good, i got him back good at region/state.Even Zach Moss had a decent career til his second week of college...

ORXC maybe you remember why that meet didn't make it.
Bolton killed it?

Rob had just wrapped up his second consecutive 100+mile week just prior to that race. That being said, Todd was not necessarily taking it easy either. He dropped the hammer on a hill and the ensuing flat portion, and I remember Rob looking at me with that "WT...!?" look as he watched Todd disappear into the sunrise. It was perfect, though, because he was all about getting after the meat of the training schedule (which was still a few weeks away). The training went well

We had a blast going to that meet and staying in Gatlinburg.

That being said:
