The Wisconsin Track Club is a collegiate running club at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. We have runners of all abilities, from sub-15 5000m runners, to the 30+ minute 8k XC runners (that's the men, use equivalent measures for women).
We have hard core runners who train every day and race every weekend. We also have runners that will show up only once a month and race once a year. The point of the WTC is that it is what you make it. We are an opportunity, not an obligation. More than anything, we hope you to have fun with us! The Wisconsin Track Club competes in DIII XC and track meets around the state of Wisconsin, and sometimes Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois. We routinely place highly in these meets, and can compete with nearly any team out there (LaCrosse would be an exception). Since 2008, the Wisconsin Track Club has been a member of NIRCA, the inter-collegiate running club association, involving running and track clubs from Oregon to the East coast, and everywhere in between. The WTC has been NIRCA Champions in both 2008 and 2009, and we look to continue that streak this year at the NIRCA Championship in Indianapolis. Wisconsin is a top tier institution, with pretty good sports teams to boot. Many of you will choose that school based simply on that. We are just here to let you know that it is possible to continue running at a high level at Wisconsin, even if you aren't talented enough to make the Badger varsity squad. So please, as you make your college decisions: consider Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Track Club. And for those of you already here at Wisconsin, get yourselves to practice!
