apparently split ~2:14/2:02 for that 4:16. Pretty impressive.

I feel like he did that to me at least twice my senior year, nonetheless I'm glad to see he hasn't fallen off the map as do many freshmen do when they transition to college.

the major difference now is that A) it was his opener and B) his jr year i think it was mostly on the last lap of things (plus i think he ran 4:19 for 1600 at west aurora against you, so like 4:21-2 for the mile).

I dunno, I think this is a step forward which I'm happy to see after what was a bit of a plateau senior year for him (with no discernable kick in races). 1 second off his pr indoors in january on a big negative split. Certainly a big talent.

Wasn't hating on him at all. It's really impressive. Maybe I'm still bitter from that race (4:20.65 to 4:20.80 or something like that) Closing was always his strength and like I said, I'm glad he's adjusting so well. That is an accomplishment unto itself; a lot of talented guys that raced as well as he did in high school fail to make that leap into college (you can probably think of more examples than I can), which is what I tried to emphasize more.
