On the boys side, don't forget Nolan Parsley of Weymouth, who went 9:26 indoors and missed most of the outdoor season. He ought to be back to full strength and I see him as a candidate for the win at DI. |

I agree that Parsley should be added in the top 10-12 runners list that 300Kicks started, but a candidate for the win in D1 - huh? I think he is a serious candidate for finishing 3rd (but I have him as 5th, behind Adams and O'Donnell) - but other than injury or falling in the race, please explain how he beats Bennie and Green?

Saw a discussion on the Bay State League thread that I thought I would open up to a larger audience. Who are the top tandems for the upcoming XC season? Here are some that come to mind:
D1 Lowell - Coppinger/Kalenoski (or Abraham?) SJS - Green/Crowley Westfield - Croteau/Jacobson Whitman-Hanson - Stephansky/Mulrey Brookline - Klein/Burrington (if he runs XC) D2 Pembroke - Stafford/Valeri Bishop Feehan - Granfield/Hanley (or Dodge?) Am I missing anyone else? I think Pembroke has the strongest tandem coming back (& they are only juniors!). Thoughts? |

I'm in the process of updating the leagues/conferences on athletic.net. Can anyone please remind me of any changes besides Taunton/Milford to the Hock and NA to the MVC?
Thanks.

Their battle will be a great example of how important depth is in XC. At first blush, when you look at Hopedale’s top three (Maurais, Doran & Tandy) and the likelihood of them all finishing in the top 5, you would think that the team race would be over. But after a closer look at WC’s possible 45 second spread 1-5 (Koeman, Solano, Brookhouse, Solano, Kuik), the race will come down to how Hopedale’s 4th and 5th runners step up (Borodenko & Hodgens). In a relatively “weak” Central MA D2 race , I don’t see the “gap” between Hopedale’s top three and their 4th & 5th runners hurting their chances of winning Central MA D2. Although, I would not be “shocked” if Hopedale is beaten in the D2 AS by WC, because the field will be much deeper and the “gap” between runners will allow many more runners to cross the line, driving up Hopedale’s overall team score. All that being said, I don’t see either team getting to the podium (I think that Newburyport and Martha’s Vineyard have a much stronger chance of joining Pembroke and BF on the stand). Thoughts/comments?

Thanks for updating our league change on Athletic.net. I hadn't even thought of that.

It would be great if the Middlesex League in 2011 reflects the addition of Arlington and Wilmington on the Athletic.net site.

Do you mean 2012? I have added them, but it may take a few days to show up. If you mean 2011, I am not sure that can be done retro. You can contact athletic.net directly and check with them.

I don't have any official capacity, other than "fan" status. I'd hoped the coaches/league officials might take care of that sort of administrative task.
