Leading the team rankings this year is none other than Columbus North, who have been getting national title buzz and come out on top of at least the Harrier's Top 25 national poll. This team is hungry so hungry that these bulldogs devoured their assistant coach whole. His name was Actaeon but at the polis of Fort Wayne he is better known as Colin. Colin had one day seen The Profit bathing naked in the woods, amazed at his beautiful flowing wet hair as he bathed his worn out body after doing a blistering 4 mile run around the polis of Jeffersonville. Colin upon seeing this forbidden beauty was forbade to speak ever again, but one day at the State Track Meet Fort Wayne Snider was running very well in the 2nd heat of the 3200 relay and he cried out in joy at this. Breaking his penalty he was changed into a stag. His hunting dogs Oribasus (Ocasio), Dorceus (Diehn), Cyprius (Kelsey), Boreas (Beiringer), and Stilbon (Sublette) unknowning of their assistant coaches transformation attack Colin in his new stag form after he went back to team camp. Some say the dogs were too hungry, some say it was the betrayal they felt for him rooting on another team, others say Columbus North is number one going into the season this year in Indiana. Will they just concentrate on winning the state title or will their primary focus be on national glory.
Ranked second we have Noblesville Middleoftheseasoners. They changed their name from Millers since it wasn't quite representative of their school. They did great last season looked like a number one team in my eyes for quite awhile, showed off why in the other race without CN in it at the Flash Inv. They are endowed by the great powers of Whitelightning, son of Zeus. They blast out with a great brilliance like a bolt captured with 1/8 shutter speed, 1600 ISO, and 3.2 focal length and then just fizzle out and end up running slower than the rain whizzing out at the end of a dieing thunderstorm. Lead by the four best runners from regions of Nobletucky Anatole, Dysis, Arktos, and Mesembria they are in desperate need of a 5th man. Perhaps the Lightning of the Great White one can cast some of his fire into the great top soil of Nobletucky and create a new A.D.A.M from the clay of the four regions and blow everyone's doors off for once at the END of the season. Third North Central led by Menedemus the Ionic form of Futsum from the polis of Eretria. Futsum was born at Eretria. Though of noble birth, he worked as builder and tentmaker until he was sent with a military expedition (not meaning to make fun of Futsum's civil strife in Eretria Africa, its just the real story of Menedemus and it fit) to Megara, from where he travelled to the North Central Academy in Indianapolis and resolved to devote himself to philosophy. At Megara he formed a life-long friendship with Asclepiades of Phlius, or Filimon with whom he toiled in the night that he might study philosophy by day and run a few miles with in the evening. These two great front running philsophers with the decent depth that North Central has coming back has this team looking pretty sweet going into the season. Ranked fourth, Terre Haute North. For THN standout David Tucker said something to John Mascari along the lines of “i jus puked in my mouth....y would u do that to me” on August 11th at 3:08 a.m. This must mean that THN has some great stuff going on. I won't even repeat in words what Will Wartenberg said on facebook this summer about how great his HSE team was going to be, it had a lot of explicit words in it. I hope if THN had a team camp they brought a shovel for it was written by Moses two years ago in–Deuteronomy 23:13-14 . Each of you must have a spade as part of your equipment. Whenever you relieve yourself (vomiting can be relief), dig a hole with the spade and cover the excrement. The camp must be holy, for the Lord your God moves around in your camp to protect you and to defeat your enemies. He must not see any shameful thing among you, or he will turn away from you. Ranked fifth, Carmel. This team is led by Chris “Achilles” Walden and his team of Myrmidon warriors. The Myrmidons were an ancient tribe of people who once existed in ancient Greece and who take their name from the ancient Thessalian king Myrmidon Downer. Son of Zeus and the mortal princess Eurymedusa, he succeeded Koeppen as king of Phthia (Carmel). He called upon his father to send him a band of great warriors and Zeus transformed several ants into soldiers to serve him and his finest warrior Achilles. It has been told that in order for Carmel to win back their glorious state title back better known as the trophy wife Helen of Troy. Their best warrior Chris “Achilles” Walden would lead them to victory but also would end up turning into crystal after completing what he was so focused to do. Ranked Sixth and the last team with I think a real chance at any hope of a title is Hamilton Southeastern. Led by the Hydra and its three heads named Wartenburg, Reeder, and Sawyer, this team is deep and brings back a lot of young talent. If Senior Waternburg can find the tri-force and kill the first level boss in the land of Hyrule and pick up a few extra heart containers they might just have a fighting chance. That's if they can fight off the swines of Nobletucky from destroying their crops and pillaging their polis. |

i really enjoyed reading your write-up, very entertaining. only complaint i have is on your individual rankings. You left out some people who i expected to find in there like Connor Sorrells form barr-reeve. I believe he ran a 16:30 last year as a freshman and made it to semi-state. but your bound to make a few mistakes when ranking 257 people

Unless a individual is close to all state or top 40 or so I usually won't include him. One of the Evansville schools forgot which one may be good enough to be include in here but I think they may only be ranked about 34th or so at the highest for the pre season. But other than saying that I'm not sure where I'd truly rank them.
Other thoughts I have. James Martin - I will no longer be expected to be shocked by you at the end of the season because I'm not expecting it. I think you are a great runner and I've enjoyed following your career but best of luck to you, you have your work cut out for you. Connor Martin - Sleeping giant waiting to be born. Has a tough schedule, runs with the big dogs all year long. Choose your races wisely and be ready to run some post post season stuff as well, you are good enough and may actually be the best Martin to cross the finish line for once this year, maybe. John Mascari - Finally getting the respect you deserve. Your great races have been outstand your not so great races are usually still pretty respectable. Will you be a favorite or one of the favorites for the title or will you be just another one of the guys that might be able to steal if from Walden or Futsum. Chris Walden - Expectations rise, but don't worry no one is expecting you at NXN or FL. Keep yourself focused on the prizes you want to win this year but please be picky, its hard to win them all. Has run some very smart races but now people will key off you. Keep your eyes on national level competition and perhaps you won't have to worry too much about others keying off you but then again we have a lot of people with capabilities to shake it up nationally. Jace Lowry - Another Martinsville stud is born. A lot of these guys had decent shots at winning a state title or at least outside ones. Funny how you are in the same boat. Your coach has coached some great athletes. You could become the best Martinsville has ever offered and the best in the state this year as well. Curious as to what improvements you could achieve. Futsum Zeinasellassie - Still a question mark as to how good this kid really is. Is he just good enough to win state by a few seconds or is he really national top ten caliber. He doesn't have a kick then he does. This confusion has made you probably a very hard person to race against, probably something nice to embrace. This will be the hardest state title you'll have to try to win so far, yep these guys are going to be even tougher than Moses. Would love to see you compete in the post post season again. Jason Crist - Officially one of the big guns now. Don't even think about next year, think about this year. This could be your best chance, with so many people battling for it anything can happen in the race. Almost had a state title this year but came up short. Do you want to come up short again this fall? You did great and you should be proud of your state track performance but all the woulds of and coulds of would be nice to live without when you cross the line first and get to truly relish in a great performance. Very doubtful anyone else will cross the finish line first at state but its possibly. If I mention one I'll mention 8 more names but someone from CN could develop, Tate is definitely not off my radar, nor is Garrett. |

My thoughts on Brebeuf,
Menedemus the great Eretrian Philosopher teaches Achilles a valuable lesson in loss. The quote "Not letting you win, won't satisfy me, I'll teach you about loss" could be describe this valiant Greek Civil War defeat. Only time will tell if it was pyrrhic victory for Menedemus or not. It also appears one of the heads of the treacherous HSE Hydra has detached itself. Wartenberg gets lost on the course looking for heart containers and tri-forces. Dude its Brebeuf not Hyrule they dont have that stuff there. Carmel team looks pretty good and HSE looks like it could develop into something great. In all my time researching national results this meet is just so early its kind of hard to imagine to want to go all out in it. The summer state meet is over, is everyone going to take a week off? No update to the Profit Poll will be done this week. Its lonely here out in Indiana thread ville all by myself. Oh yeah I forgot Zionsville, they looked pretty good too just I feel sorry for their genius coach having to drive that cave troll around to meets all the time. Plus Logic Cat keeps mistaking that Cave Troll as his personal litter box. So sad but possibly true it looks like Zionsville may be singing the blues looking from the outside in with a point total less than ten 7th place at Carmel semi-state all dressed up with no date eh i give up, i lost my muse i don't want to confuse a cave troll and his crew blah blah blah few blah blah blah you blah blah blah new blah blah blah tool? |

I think I spent too much time in Imaginationland but it likely won't stop. It's too early in the season for me right now, I won't start really analyzing or stop talking in riddles for awhile. Plus that Bain guy felt left out so I had to make some cave troll references.

Profit,
I thought your post was very creative. Fun read, though I am sure it was over the head of 99.9% of people out there due to all the inside jokes. I appreciate that you are putting a ton of work into all your posts and polls to generate conversation and interest. Right, wrong, or too wacky to take seriously, it is all in good fun and for the benefit of the sport. Thanks. Last edited by TicToc : 08-26-2010 at 07:21 AM. |
