My university recently required all of its student athletes to install this app on their Facebooks, MySpaces, and Twitters. Does anyone have any experience with them? How strict have you found it to be?

What does it do?

From a look on their website, it looks through your Facebook/other social profiles and find items that are damaging to both your and your school's 'reputation.' It then emails your administration, and coach, and you, and tells you to delete it. You can then receive consequences from coaches/admins.

If they find you and you don't comply, you get suspended from practice and competition. I might make an alias though.

Doesn't even sound legal.

Just block your name and information and they'll never take the time to find you at any large school.

Alias- If your name is John Michael Doe, change it to something like Jahn Mike D. Get real creative, though not too creative in case any actual friend/acquaintance needs to add you.
Make everything available to "friends only"- even profile pic.
If you really have to, deactivate your fb account.
I'm really tempted now to figure out some sort of unconstitutional privacy thing. Though its really riding on whether or not your school is public or private.
