Just got on a team for the Wasatch Back relay. Should be way fun! Has anyone else run one of these? (all my teammates tell me it's harder for them than a marathon, because the break in between legs is just long enough to get stiff and sore). I ran one a couple of years ago, and I ran leg 13 (and 1 and 25), which is 8.3 miles and climbs 250 feet before dropping 1700. My legs were dead for route 25, where my pace was 2:30/mile slower than on 13
After getting home, I actually fell asleep at the dinner table. It was one of the greatest events of my life, though.

I've run the past 3 Wasatch Back Relays: the same leg (#10, 22, 34). The key is to properly warmup and cooldown each leg and eat right in between, and to jog around a little at each exchange point. I usually stick to peanut butter and banana sandwiches with water before, gatorade after each leg.

I was on a team for Ragnar Great river, and then my mom's sorority sister's son got killed running an all night relay in Arizona (I don't think it was Ragnar Del Sol, but I'm not sure) and she made me drop out, which I did. Sucks though, because I was way pumped for it. I can't wait until I get a chance to do it next summer

He got hit by a car at night while running. Upon further review, it was at Ragnar Del Sol

Here's an article about it

I went with a very casual team, so not nearly as fast...
Run Like You Stole Something - 443rd of mixed teams 32:21:35.1
Time up ragnar was ~50 minutes
I'm more tired than sore, cause I did the driving from 2-6 am

Hey steeple, if you haven't started already, what's your team name?
I'm on Dead Last this year, runner 12.
