I had this argument with a few other friends.

Here's my thing. Technically they were operating a food booth without a license.

What if it had been two 40 year old guys? Or two homeless guys? Would your view on calling the cops change?

if it had been two 40 year old guys, I would have definitely, without a doubt, called the cops.

also, don't you think that the fact that they're kids means they should get a little slack? we have different rules for minors - we don't send 13 year old kids to jail, so clearly, the law is not the law.

No, the law IS still the law, the sentence is different.

If a 40 year old and a 13 year old kill someone, both are charged with violating the same LAW, but the sentence is different.

You're right, the law is the law. However, if these guys are going to hit the pulpit and call out little kids like this, they had better not have a single legal blemish on their resumes, no matter how minor.
