No idea if this is the appropriate use of this thread, but I'm thinking of getting a dog sometime within the next few months. I've got a job, a place to live, and time to care for it, so it seems as good a time as any.
I've had dogs before, and back home we have a lovely husky-lab mix that's just awesome. I would have no problems getting another dog like that, HOWEVER: Once I got to college, I noticed a distinct lack of dog hair all over my clothes, and I got to say: it was nice. So I'm looking for suggestions on dog breeds/mixes. 1) I want to run with my dog. Obviously, my husky could run, but it need not be as big as that. Just no small dogs. 2) Lack of shedding would be really nice. Again, I would prefer to not have to pick out dog hair all the time. 3) (somewhat) easily trained. I'm going to put in the effort to train my dog correctly, but I'm by no means an expert. 4) Gregarious? Basically, I want my dog to get along with other people, though I think this comes down to how I train it as well. Thanks, y'all!
