Am in Southern Oregon at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, near the California border. Highly recommend it. 98 degrees of dry heat, no hurricanes, so on the pain and suffering spectrum I have nothing to whine about. Hang in there Super-P, Dan, Young Lad, El Beutii-o, etc.

glad you and the family survived the storm and are back on the board again! Keep the rain coats handy for the leftovers of Lee!

We went from extreme drought to the plus column thanks to Lee! We had 8 inches of rain in one day setting a new record.

By the way, I forgot to mention that I'm back working a regular schedule now - although with a limp! Everyday is a little better than the day before.

Jenny, huh? WOW!! Absolutely awesome!!! Incredible! She's a star..
almost 4 inches fell on my local weatherstation from 7pm yesterday to 7am today.
The Let's Run contest had 1980 entries only 3 picked JB-S to win. The word unexpected comes to mind.

Welcome back to the electronic age, Patti.

Default More rain on the way!

Looks like Nate has changed course and is expected to move farther north bringing rain to Texas!

Maria looks like she's following pretty closely to Irene

the Irondale Cafe is the restaurant that Fried Green Tomatoes was made about. Fanny Flag lived here in Bham as a child and Irondale is a suburb of Bham.

We've eaten there and, as you would imagine, fried green tomatoes are their most popular dish. My folks love them, but I never acquired a liking for them - give my maters red, ripe, and juicy! (I did eat them at the Irondale Cafe and found them tolerable.)

Enjoy the movie! It will make you think when you eat BBQ!

Default Fanny has

written several books and they most, if not all, tie in Bham somewhere. She has one out now that my wife is reading.

Even tho FGT has the interesting twist on southern BBQ, it doesn't dampen our enthusiasm for it!

Back in the 1990s a number of folks dismissed/ paid little attention to his childhood abuse claim as just another "Shorter being Shorter" since it was made in a setting that a comment like that would direct attention to him not the cause at hand (a race with the charity being abused children).
While Shorters public face was well crafted his cohort often mentioned his rudeness and often used descriptives such as self-centeredness and arrogant.

Abuse is an issue in far too many households be it children, spouse or the elderly. It took a friend who had been beaten by her husband over 10 years to even bring herself to hug another human being and another five until she could embrace a man, even in a casual hello.

Thread in current events has drawn one comment>
