The last time I had minosas we had Gruet DemiSec and fresh OJ with just a few drops, less than a half teaspoon, of Grand Marnier in the bottom of the glass. It really added a new dimension to the drink.
A couple of wine dinners ago a guest asked us how to deal with leftover wine. Not one of could help and we wondered what exactly is left over wine as none of us had ever seen any!!!! Give Tom a hug and kiss from all the LLers and if you want to make it interesting give him a hug and kiss from each of us separately My mother often pointed out that October births were a sign of intelligent parents since they knew how to keep warm thru those cold January nights. I always countered that since my b-day is the first it is more likely I was a product of News Years Eve Champagne than lack of blankets

WiT,
Dipped ain't the right word - in shape, it's probably a 22 min course, maybe 24 or 25 at training pace...out, it should still go low 30's...I think what you should've said was "avoided the ignominy of going over 40 minutes." Wayne

Wayne I`m thinking it would be a 4 hour jaunt for me and my trusty cane, not counting Zinfandel breaks of course!!

WiT,
Alcoholic beverages are not permitted in the park...but we could get you to some quickly after your jaunt! Wayne

For a 4 hour jaunt I must pack some of each of the 5 basic food groups: wine, butter, bacon, sea salt and chocolate at bare minimum. One less place for me to visit.

No comment (but I'm well aware it's been done). And Happy Birthday to Tom (you saved the prescription to give on his birthday, right?)

Omigosh good grief, what just happened today?
I am referring to the Boston Marathon. A large number of my extended family of running buddies are, or were, planning to run Boston this year. You may recall, a few years ago the Marathon did not fill up. Then a couple years ago, it filled in about February. Last year, it filled in November, which caught a lot of folks off guard and left them unenrolled. So this year, several folks made note that registration would open today (October 18) and planned to sign up today. Apparently, those folks had a lot of company. Registration opened at 6AM our (Pacific) time. I tried logging on at 6:10AM and the website was clogged and I could not get in. About 10AM, I successfully got in and signed up. By 3PM our time, the race was closed. Full. Shut down. No soup for you. Good heavens, what kind of a storm just hit? I know that at least eight of us got in. And the e-mails are still circling around, but I am sure some folks who had planned to run are left out. I mean, all you had to do was get a bit busy at work, and before tea time it was gone. Yikes. Anyway, I'll be there. SO watch out y'all. |
