One person that I think will be up near the top is Madison La Follette's chandler diffee. He was injured most of last season. He runs 9:40ish, under 2:00 in the 8 and 4:22y in the 1600. He is also younger for his grade.

D1 (no order, just grouped by tiers)
TOP TIER: no one can really match up to these guys. yes, they can be beaten but from a statistical standpoint they are atop the state. hard to say which one is the best at this point. thats for next season to decide: Tommy Meister (2nd last season, 4:13.0 1600, 1:52 high 800{STATE CHAMP}, and low 9:20's in the 3200. Janesville Craig) Zach Hansen (3rd last season, 4:13.6 1600 to place 4th at state, shows up big at big meets. Kenosha Tremper) Russel Sandvold (6th last year, 4:12.98 1600 {STATE CHAMP}, 9:18 3200, hes a racer and is always ready to go. Arrowhead) TWEENERS: Ben Bierman (37th, Arrowhead, 4:15 this season) Brad Woodford (12th, Waukesha South) These two guys had great track seasons. They could really go either direction. It was hard for me to put them in either TIER. both had phenomenal track season. Woodford is a grinder and is always up front every race. Bierman has the speed and is tough. If he hangs on in these longer races, he could be a force. 2nd TIER: Kyle Lewin (8th, Arrowhead)-track season wasnt as good as his xc but still solid. should be on the podium with sandvold Kyle Nottingham (9th, Tremper)-same as Lewin. Track season wasnt as impressive as last years xc. could be another duo on the podium tho. Michael Larson (69th, SPASH, 9:31 this season)-SPASH's next top gun. Brady Selner (16th, Ashwaubenon)- always been consistently one of the best runners in his class. A podium finish would be nice for this stud. Carl Hirsch (9:31 sophomore year, looks like a pure distance runner. Brookfield Central) Chandler Diffee (4:22 1600 as a soph, also 9:40 i believe, could be the next big thing from MLF) Jonah Barry (59th, Madison West, 9:37 this season) Mad Wests top returner and has had some injury problems i believe. can be a big sleeper. Kyle Staven (34th, Madison La Follette, 9:35 this season)- Another MLF guy who has been consistent for a long long time. Ready to show the state what hes got

Haha I agree
I say Meister-Sanvold pull ahead with 1000 to go and battle it out the rest of the way, who has more guts battle |

Banking on a nice day at the ridges, and having everyone peaking, I think the Meister-Sandvold-Hansen battle could take blow in some stellar times; I'm thinking (hoping) in the area of 15:15, even! I think these three have the ability to go crazy fast, on a similar level to Rombough, maybe (hopefully) even Solinsky (I'll keep my fingers crossed)!
I think we could also get at least one guy to FLN. It'd be nice after having the last two fantastic hopefuls placing a agonizingly close 12th (Nothing against the runners, they did their absolute best!).
